What is the Bildungsspender?
The education donor is a non-profit entrepreneurial company, which does not strive for profit and is independent and autonomous. The function of the educational donor is that of an intermediary between so-called partner shops, registered institutions and you.
How does Bildungsspender work?
With the education donor you can collect money for the institution of your choice without paying for it yourself and without registering. We also call it Charity purchase or Charity shopping.
Founder Alexander Klement explains: “Educational donors convert advertising money into donations in a certain way.” Online merchants pay commissions to those who bring them customers. Commissions of between two and ten percent of the purchase price are usual. 90 per cent of this goes to a customer-designated institution, the remaining ten per cent to educational donors.
An example:
Anyone looking for winter boots and ordering a pair from Zalando for 119 euros will get them at the same conditions as any other customer. Zalando currently pays Bildungspender six percent commission of the net price, for new customers even twelve percent. In the latter case, this means 12 euros, of which 10.80 euros will be received by the registered institution as a beneficiary and 1.20 euros for organisational purposes by Bidungsspender.
